The 15th annual St. Albert Turkey Ring tournament is underway, with a record 78 teams competing for medals in 14 divisions.
The host St. Albert Ringette Association is represented by 27 AA, A, B and C teams, from U9 bunny to U19 in the 143-game tournament draw.
Games are scheduled for Servus Credit Union Place and the Akinsdale, Kinex, Canadian Athletic Club and River Qui Barre arenas.
Finals are Sunday and Monday.
This is the first year for AA teams in U14 tween, U16 junior and U19 belle.

Three of St. Albert’s six teams in the Capital District Minor Football Association huddle up Sunday at Riel Recreation Park.
In the atom Tier 3/4 division the Buccaneers (4-1) tackle the Wetaskiwin Wolverines (0-5) at 9 a.m. and the Vikings (3-2) play the Camrose Buffaloes (4-1) at 11:30 a.m.
The peewee Tier 1/2 Riders (2-3) line up against the Sherwood Park Bulldogs (3-2) at 2 p.m.
Monday the bantam Tier 1/2 Fury (4-1) battle the Sherwood Park Wolverines (2-3) at 12 p.m. at Clarke Park.
The bantam Tier 3/4 49ers (4-1) have a bye week. The last game before the playoffs for the 2012 Tier 3 CDMFA champions and north provincial finalists is Oct. 19 against the Camrose Buffaloes (2-2) at 3:30 p.m. in St. Albert.
Meanwhile, the peewee Tier 1/2 Colts (0-4) are in Sherwood Park on Sunday to face the Sabrecats (3-2) at 10 a.m.
Faceoff is 2:15 p.m. at Grant Fuhr Arena.
The Slash (1-6-1) are 0-5-1 in their last six games as the last-place team in the north standings.
Tonight the St. Albert Raiders visit the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers in the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League.
Game time is 7:45 p.m. at JRC Arena.
The Raiders are 2-1-1 to start the season, with seven goals scored and five against.
On Oct. 28 the Raiders host the Canadian Olympic Women’s Team at 7:45 p.m. at Northstar Hyundai Arena.
Sunday the St. Albert Merchants host the Sherwood Park Knights in the Capital Junior B Hockey League.
Puck drop is 8 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.
