The St. Albert Impact men’s and women’s division 1B teams in the Edmonton District Soccer Association kick into action tonight at Riel Park.
The Impact men (4-1-1) play Southwest United (2-2-2) at 6:30 p.m. and the Impact women (4-2) line up against ASC United (3-2) at 8:15 p.m.
The last match for the women’s team was Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Hearts United (7-0) in St. Albert.
Alan Smith, Noah Boyko and William Backhouse of the Impact men are the division co-leaders in goals with four apiece.
Tonight at 7 p.m. the bantam AAA St. Albert Cardinals and Sherwood Park Athletics play ball at Legion Memorial Park.
Last weekend the Cardinals swept the Red Deer Braves 7-5 and 7-3 in an exhibition doubleheader at Great Chief Park.
The last league game for the Cardinals (8-5) was Thursday’s 2-0 loss to the host Spruce Grove White Sox.
The St. Albert Rams Lacrosse Club hosts its annual Jeremy Richardson Memorial Baggataway Tournament this weekend at Servus Credit Union Place and the Akinsdale and Kinex arenas.
The 64-team draw includes 14 from the St. Albert Rams.
The 113-game schedule wraps up with Sunday’s medal finals in peewee C, bantam C, novice boys, peewee boys, bantam boys, midget boys, novice girls, peewee girls, bantam girls and midget girls.
The tournament starts at 4:30 p.m. Friday and the last games on Sunday go at 6:30 p.m.

The Alberta Men’s Amateur Qualifier for Edmonton swings into action Friday at the Sandpiper Golf & Country Club.
The shotgun start for the 127-man field is 9 a.m.
St. Albert golfers registered for the qualifier are Harry Aime, Barrett Belland, Cameron Feniak, Michael Fontaine, Keaton Lockwood, Phil McKenzie, James Monsees, James Robillard, Keith Rogers, Adrian Sandee, Frank Symington and Wayne Vande Vyvere.
Sean Bulger of Morinville is also entered.
The handicap factor limit is eight.
The Alberta Men’s Amateur Championship is July 20 to 23 at the Edmonton Petroleum Golf & Country Club.
The defending champion is Tyler Saunders of Sturgeon County. The Glendale Golf & Country Club product is a Team Canada development squad member, along with St. Albert’s A.J. Armstong. The St. Albert Catholic High School alumnus captured his first collegiate win with the Texas State Bobcats and was ranked No. 1 on the team as a freshman.
