The Tier III provincial qualifiers from the St. Albert men’s and women’s soccer leagues will compete for medals next weekend in Calgary.
The Rummies (10-0-2) and GSE (8-3-2) will represent the men’s league as the top two finishers in the regular season.
Last year in Tier IV the Rummies won bronze for their 12th provincial medal in team history and GSE, the league’s playoff cup winners, finished 1-3.
Mavericks 09 (13-1) punched their ticket to provincials for the second straight year as the division one pennant winners in the women’s league.
Last year’s Tier IV bronze medal by the Mavericks equaled the highest finish by a St. Albert women’s team at provincials.
Meanwhile, the women’s division two playoffs kicked off Sunday and the men’s league playoffs started Tuesday. The women’s division two playoffs begin this Sunday.
The finals are Sept. 15.
