The winner will challenge the Clansmen’s Blue or White team in the Ron Allen Cup final Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Last year SARFC lost the ERU final to the Clan B squad 29-14.

The provincial final against the Calgary Rugby Union champion is Aug. 24 at 5:30 p.m. at Ellerslie.

Friday at 7 p.m. in the second division SARFC lines up against the first-place Nor’Westers (9-0-1).

SARFC (4-6-1) is coming off a 39-32 win over the Fort McMurray Knights (4-6) last weekend in Fort McMurray. In June the Knights whipped the seconds 41-17 at Ellerslie.

Saturday in the U17 semifinals SARFC (8-0) and the Nor’Westers (2-5) clash at 12:30 p.m.

Last month SARFC throttled the defending ERU and provincial champions 76-7.

The ERU final Aug. 24 against the Clan (5-3) or Druids-Lep/Tigers (4-4) for the Nor’Westers Cup kicks off at 2:15 p.m. at Ellerslie.

SARFC lost the 2012 final 24-3 to the Nor’Westers.

In the Alberta Cup fixtures Saturday the premier men and the Calgary Canucks (2-7) ruck and maul at 4 p.m.

It’s the first match for SARFC (4-5) since its stunning 50-5 victory over the Calgary Saints (7-3) July 27 in Sherwood Park.

The winner of Tuesday’s showdown between St. Albert Impact 2 and the St. Albert Impact Rangers in the Edmonton District Soccer Association will advance to Monday’s Tier II provincial qualifier and Aug. 21 promotion challenge for premier division status.

The score from the division one crossover playdown at Goldstick Park was unavailable at press time.

The Rangers (9-3-1 in 1A), a former premier team, and the Impact (9-5 in 1B) finished second in their respective division one tables.

Monday’s 7 p.m. match at Coronation Park against the loser of Tuesday’s playdown between AS Roma (13-0 in 1A) and the Scona Blues (10-2-2 in 1B) will determine the second division one rep at Tier II provincials, Aug. 30 to Sept. 2 in Calgary.

The promotional challenge against the eighth-place premier team kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at the EDSA Complex.
