St. Albert’s premier men’s provincial champions host the Calgary Saracens today at the Leading Edge Physiotherapy Fields. The Alberta Cup match kicks off at 4 p.m.
The first 15 are 1-3 and the Saracens are 0-4 in the 10-team standings.
Meanwhile, the third division men and the women’s team scrums down today at Ellerslie Rugby Park. The thirds (1-3) play the Pirates (2-0) at 12:30 p.m. The women also tackle the Pirates at 4 p.m. Both teams are winless after six games in the round robin fixtures to determine the line-ups in Alberta premier and the Edmonton Rugby Union’s second division. League play starts Wednesday.
The St. Albert women are coming off their closest loss of the season, 37-5 with only 14 players against Crude/West (2-4) last Saturday in Leduc. Marcia Davis scored the try.
Weather permitting, the 28th annual Tigers Baseball Association tournament is under way at Legion Memorial Park.
Prize money includes $150 per round-robin win, plus $800 to the tournament winner and $400 to the loser of the championship game.
The St. Albert Tigers Black, Parkland Whitesox, Red Deer Stags and Prince George Grays are in the Waples division.
The Young division is made up of the St. Albert Tigers Orange, Fort Saskatchewan Athletics, Red Deer Riggers and Calgary Red Birds.
Friday night the Tigers Orange played Fort Saskatchewan and the Tigers Black took on Parkland, but scores were unavailable at press time.

The St. Albert Heavenly Rollers host the Deathbridge Derby Dames of Lethbridge tonight in the first roller derby bout in St. Albert history. They start jamming at 7 p.m. at Performance Arena.
