St. Albert’s first 15 snapped a season-opening three-game losing streak recently with a gritty 22-14 decision against the Titans (0-4) in Red Deer.
Meanwhile, St. Albert’s second division team in the Edmonton Rugby Union won its first game after two losses, 29-12 against the Knights (2-2) in Fort McMurray, last weekend. Matt Jarvis, Justin (Bomber) Armitt, David Owen and Matt Herod scored tries. The Knights didn‘t even cross St. Albert’s 22-metre line in the second half. A young, undersized St. Albert pack was the difference in the match.
The first roller derby bout in St. Albert history starts jamming at 7 p.m. Saturday, when the St. Albert Heavenly Rollers host the Deathbridge Derby Dames of Lethbridge at Performance Arena.
