Meanwhile, the game of the year in St. Albert high school football has been confirmed for Oct. 2 between Bellerose and Paul Kane Blues in the Carr division one regular season.

Thursday the undefeated St. Albert Skyhawks host the second-place pool B team in the metro Edmonton division two women's soccer quarter-finals.

Kickoff is 4 p.m. at Riel Park.

The Skyhawks are the top pool A team at 5-0, with 31 goals and five against. The win totals include scores of 5-0 against the Paul Kane Blues (2-1-1) and 5-2 against the Bellerose Bulldogs (2-1-1).

The semifinals are Tuesday and the final is June 9 at the ESA Complex.

Last year the Skyhawks won the division two consolation final to finish 5-2-1 after going 7-1 in 2013 as the city conference (division two) finalists.

The St. Albert Soccer Association is throwing a party Sunday in celebration of its 60th anniversary and the grand re-opening of the Riel Park fields after a two-year hiatus.

Activities for all ages start at 2 p.m. and the official kick off is 4 p.m.

The St. Albert Impact division 1B teams in the Edmonton District Soccer Association have matches scheduled at 5:30 p.m. The Impact men battle the Liberian Lone Stars and the Impact women play Sherwood Park Phoenix.

Food trucks, entertainment and an evening barbecue are also part of the fun.

Displays will feature SASA's rich history, the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada and the FC Edmonton pro soccer team.

The St. Albert Mustangs host the annual St. Albert Challenge track and field meet this weekend at Fowler Athletic Park.

More than 250 athletes, ranging in age from eight to 80, from various clubs from across the province will compete in 138 events (69 for females and 69 for males).

The Mustangs will be represented by 45 athletes.

The competition starts at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday and ends at 5 p.m. both days.

The meet features 40 volunteers and 20 officials per day.
