In Calgary, it’s the St. Albert premier men versus the two-time defending Labatt’s Cup provincial champion Calgary Hornets at Calgary Rugby Park.
The match goes at 1:45 p.m.
St. Albert played the Canucks last weekend earning a 37-17 win.
Lacrosse playoffs
The No. 2-ranked senior B Miners have their first Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League playoff game this afternoon versus the third-place Mounties at Northstar Hyundai Arena.
The ball drops at 3 p.m.
The two teams will battle again Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. in St. Albert.
Stars tackle Gators
The St. Albert Stars will look to hand the Calgary Gators their first loss of the season when they play their last Alberta Football League regular season game in Calgary on Sunday against the No.1-ranked Gators.
Kick off is 2 p.m. at Stampeder Field.
The Stars fell to the Central Alberta Buccaneers 45-14 in their last AFL game leaving them with a 3-2 record.
The third-place Stars are poised to host a quarter-final game in the league playoffs.
SAMSL all-star game
The best in the league will hit the pitch Sunday at the St. Albert Men’s Soccer League all-star game at Riel Recreation Park.
The game starts at 3 p.m.
Senior Cardinals
It’s St. Albert versus Spruce Grove in Albert West Central Baseball Association action Monday night at Legion Park.
First pitch goes at 6:45 p.m.
The Cardinals and Stony Plain Eagles were rained-out on Monday.
St. Albert’s upcoming game versus Spruce Grove will be their second last contest before playing in the Canadian Oldtimers Baseball Championships 35-plus division Aug. 1-5.
The championship includes 44-plus and 50-plus divisions and will be staged at diamonds in St. Albert and Spruce Grove along with Telus Field and Footz Field.
The AWCBA teams end their season Monday, July 29 in Spruce Grove at 6:45 p.m.
Junior Cards all-stars
Four junior Cardinals are headed to the North Central Alberta League the all-star game.
Jared Klim, Hayden Chies, Matt Biollo, and McLean Cruthers were named to the Big League Sports all-star team roster versus the Beverly Optimist all-star team.
The NCABL all-star game goes Tuesday, July 23, at 7:15 p.m. at Centennial Park in Sherwood Park.
Wednesday night the junior Cards dropped their last second last game of the season to the Red Lions 6-2 in Westlock.
