League play continues for men’s rugby teams in St. Albert. The third division men (1-1) head to Riel Rugby park to take on the Edson Axmen (1-0), who are fresh off their first match of the season, which they won 36-15. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.
The Alberta Cup premier men will also hit the pitch at 4 p.m. in the battle of early season favourites against the Calgary Hornets (2-0). The firsts are last year’s provincial champions and have qualified for the finals the past two seasons.
Five games are on tap for Sunday in the St. Albert Women’s Soccer League first division.
The battle for first place kicks off at 5 p.m. at Grosvenor field with the Morinville Ladies (2-0) against the Mavericks 09 (2-0).
Other games scheduled are the Cosmos FC (0-1-1) against the Kickers (0-2), the Goal Diggers (1-1) vs. the Fury (1-1), the Gini’s (1-1) vs. the Storm (1-0) and the Lady Titans (1-1) against St. Albert FC (0-2).

Fresh off a 12-7 loss to the Sherwood Park Gold at Legion Park on Wednesday, the midget AAA Cardinals will look to improve their record.
The Red Birds play Sunday at 1 p.m. against Red Deer (5-2). St. Albert will looking to improve on their 1-9 record.
St. Albert Challenge
The St. Albert Track and Field Club will host the annual St. Albert Challenge May 28 and 29. The competition features seven age categories competing in track and field events at Fowler Park.
This year’s event will also serve as a qualifier for zone 5, 6 and 7 to compete in the 2011 Alberta 55 Plus Summer Games that will be held in Fairview later this year.
Tennis
