The St. Albert Stars take on the 2012 national champion Lloydminster Vandals in the Alberta Football League this afternoon.
Kick-off is 1 p.m. at Clarke Park.
The Stars (2-1) are currently third in the standings while the Vandals (1-3) sit at fifth place.
The St. Albert Football Rugby Club second division men are set to tackle the Strathcona Druids in the Edmonton Rugby Union this afternoon.
Kickoff is at 2 p.m. at Ellerslie Rugby Park in Edmonton.
The third-place bantam AAA Cardinals will try to pitch Okotoks Black their first loss of the season when they take on the Dawgs today at noon and 3 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park.
The Okotoks Black team is at the top of the bantam AAA heap with a 19-0 record.
On Sunday, the St. Albert ball team is on the road to Centennial Park in Sherwood Park to face the Okotoks Dawgs Red team at 1 p.m., followed by a game against the Sherwood Park Athletics at 4 p.m.
The Alberta Lacrosse Association A and C provincials continue today and tomorrow at Servus Credit Union Place, and the Akinsdale and Kinex arenas. Four St. Albert host teams are hitting the ice this weekend.
The peewee A final goes at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday at Performance Arena.
Akinsdale Arena will see the bantam A gold medal match-up Sunday at noon.
The St. Albert Tigers take on the Confederation Park Cubs on Sunday.
First pitch is at 7:30 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park.
With a 4-4 record, the Tigers are looking to tip the scales into the win column against the White Sox who are 6 and 5.
The Tigers Baseball Association must have been peering into their crystal ball when they decided to move the association’s annual tournament to July. Traditionally the championship has been held in mid-June but after being rained-out too many times, the decision was made to move the date. This year the Tigers Baseball Association Tournament goes July 12 to 14 at Legion Memorial Park.
