The NAMLC Drillers of St. Albert are running the floor this weekend in the Alberta Lacrosse Association’s junior B ladies’ championship at Servus Credit Union Place.

The Drillers are also in action tonight against the Calgary Axeman Snipers at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday they play the Calgary Cardinals at 4 p.m.

In the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League the Cardinals placed first at 9-3, followed by the 8-5 Drillers, 6-7 Warriors and 4-8-1 Axemen.

The St. Albert Senior Cardinals are up to bat Wednesday against the Edmonton Expos in the Alberta West Central Baseball Association.

The first pitch is 6:45 p.m. at Footz Field.

The Cardinals are 7-4 in league play and the Expos are 1-4.

The Cardinals are coming off losses of 11-1 on the road and 4-0 at home against the defending champion Westlock Red Lions (7-2) to end a four-game winning streak.

Wednesday the senior B St. Albert Miners host the Edmonton Outlaws in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League.

Game time is 8 p.m. at Northstar Hyundai Arena.

The Miners (7-4) are ranked second and the Outlaws (5-4-1) are third.

Last weekend the league cancelled several games because of massive flooding in southern Alberta, including the Miners versus the Okotoks Raiders (1-7-1) in St. Albert on Sunday.

The last game for the Miners was 15-7 against the last-place Spruce Grove Slash (1-10) June 19 at Grant Fuhr Arena. Hat tricks by captain Nate Schmidt and rookie Chad Gendall and Sean Reid’s five assists paced the attack as the 2012 provincial finalists posted their second win in five games.

St. Albert is the site for the Alberta Lacrosse Association A and C provincial championships next weekend at Servus Credit Union Place and the Akinsdale and Kinex arenas.

Four male teams from the St. Albert Rams Lacrosse Club have been confirmed for the peewee A and C and bantam A and C divisions.

The Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council playoffs will determine the city league reps at provincials.
