Three teams from the St. Albert Rugby Football Club make their season debuts Saturday against the Druids at Ellerslie Rugby Park.
The third division men play at 12:30 p.m., followed by the women at 2:15 p.m. in the Edmonton Rugby Union spring league and the defending premier men’s provincial champions at 4 p.m. in the Alberta Cup fixtures.
The first home match at the Leading Edge Physiotherapy Fields is May 19, when the women host the Lep/Tigers at 7 p.m. The first of six Super Saturdays in St. Albert is May 28, when the thirds tackle the Edson Axmen at 2 p.m. and the premier men battle the Calgary Hornets at 4 p.m.
The Hawks Basketball Academy (HBA) invites girls (born 1997-1999) who are passionate about improving their fundamental basketball skills to register and participate in a practice and information night May 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Albert Catholic High School. The cost is $5.
It’s an opportunity to have fun on the court, test your skills, see the HBA coaches in action and chat with parents and players of the Hawks. Coaches will run a 90-minute on-court session, followed by a 30-minute question and answer period with free pizza.

All female baseball players, from T-ball to bantam division, are invited to attend the Girls Baseball Day in Canada camp May 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park. The cost is $10, and includes a T-shirt, cap and snack.
The St. Albert Minor Baseball Association, in conjunction with Nicole Luchanski, director of girls’ baseball for Baseball Alberta, along with members of the 2011 women’s Team Canada, Alberta open division and the bantam girls’ provincial team, will lead the players through the fundamentals of baseball.

The St. Albert Tigers host their annual baseball camp May 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park. The cost is $20.
It’s open to all male and female T-ball to peewee division players. The $20 registration fee includes a T-shirt and lunch with your favourite Tiger.
During lunchtime, the Tigers will hold a special coaching session to demonstrate various practice drills and skill enhancement techniques to assist coaches with their team’s development and practice plans. It’s free for all coaches.
