The St. Albert Minor Baseball Association is represented by nine Cardinals’ teams as the tournament hosts.

The 88-game schedule ends with Monday’s finals at 1 p.m. for peewee AA at Legion park and 3 p.m. for bantam AA and mosquito AA at Meadowview and midget AA, bantam AAA and peewee AAA at Legion park.

The senior AAA St. Albert Tigers are up to bat against the Confederation Park Cubs Monday in the Sunburst Baseball League.

The first pitch is 6:45 p.m. at John Fry Park.

The Tigers make their home debut against the Cubs at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Legion Memorial Park.

The Tigers lost their season opener 3-0 to the Parkland White Sox in Spruce Grove and Friday’s score between the two teams was unavailable at press time.

Meanwhile, the deadline to register for the Tigers Baseball Camp is June 2 through www.stalberttigers.com.

The June 6 camp at Legion park is open to all male and female rally cap to peewee division players.

The rally cap session runs from 10 a.m. to noon and the rookie to peewee session is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch is also included.

The St. Albert Junior Cardinals host the Barrhead Orioles at Legion Memorial Park in the North Central Alberta Baseball League Tuesday at 7:15 p.m..

The Cardinals are 0-2 this season after Wednesday’s 8-4 loss to the Sturgeon Paladins in Bon Accord.

The Cardinals are also the home team for the second annual Rainmaker Rodeo tournament, May 22 to 24 in St. Albert.

The last match before the playoffs for the Bellerose Bulldogs and Paul Kane Blues in metro Edmonton high school women’s rugby kicks off Tuesday at 4:45 p.m.

Bellerose (2-2) scrums down against the McNally Tigers (2-2) in division one at the St. Albert Rugby Football Club and the Blues (3-0) battle the Memorial Marauders (1-2) in division two pool A in Stony Plain.

The semifinals start May 26 and the finals are May 28 at Ellerslie Rugby Park.

The top two pool A and B teams in division two make the playoffs.

Last year the Blues finished 5-1 as division two champions and Bellerose was 4-1 as division one semifinalists.
