The St. Albert Soccer Association hosts its annual Victoria Day Classic tournament this weekend for 77 club teams in 12 divisions.
SASA is represented by 11 Impact teams in the U10 to U18 Tier I, II and III boys’ and girls’ format.
Alberta Soccer Association team coaches are in St. Albert to scout the top players in the province.
Field locations are Riel Recreation Park, Eldorado east and west, Salisbury one and two, Larose east and west and Erin Ridge Park.

The St. Albert Minor Baseball Association’s annual Early Bird tournament is underway for 52 teams in six divisions.
Games are scheduled for Legion Memorial Park, Meadowview Diamonds and Stony Plain.
The finals are 3 p.m. Sunday for midget AA, peewee AAA, peewee AA and mosquito AA and 3 p.m. Monday for bantam AAA and bantam AA.

Tonight in Spruce Grove the St. Albert Tigers raise the curtain on another season in the Sunburst Baseball League.
The first pitch is 6:45 p.m. against the Parkland White Sox at Henry Singer Park.
Wednesday the Tigers visit the Fort Saskatchewan Athletics at 6:45 p.m.
The Tigers’ home opener is Friday against the Red Deer Riggers at 7:30 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park.
Last year the Tigers finished fourth in the five-team standings at 5-10-1 and in the semifinals were eliminated by the Athletics in the third and deciding game.
Four graduating players from the St. Albert 49ers will huddle up with the north all-stars at the fifth annual Football Alberta Bantam Bowl on Monday at 12 p.m. at Foote Field.
Quarterback Brendan Guy, receiver Corbin Stewart, offensive lineman Zach Dreger and defensive back Arjun Basahti will represent the 2012 Capital District Minor Football Association’s Tier 3 bantam champions and provincial north finalists.
The St. Albert Women’s Soccer Association kicks off another season Tuesday at the Forest Park fields.
In division one Mavericks 09 (19-1 overall last year as the pennant winners, playoff champions and Tier IV provincial bronze medallists) play the Storm on the north pitch and the St. Albert Blaze battle the Snipe on the south pitch in division two.
