The last game of the season for the St. Albert Storm in midget spring league football has been cancelled.

The Storm, 0-4 in the Tier 1 and 2 division, were supposed to line up against the first-place team in the Tier 3 and 4 division in Friday’s playoff at Riel Recreation Park.

The Storm are coming off a 37-0 exhibition win over the winless Tier 3 and 4 division Edmonton Seahawks last weekend in St. Albert.

Last year the team of Grade 9, 10 and 11 players finished 2-4 as the Tier 2 playoff winners.

The St. Albert Rugby Football Club will field three teams in the men’s and women’s lid-lifer.

Last weekend the thirds lost an exhibition match in Drayton Valley.

At 4 p.m. the premier men ruck and maul with the rival Clansmen in the Alberta Cup fixtures.

Last year the Clan beat St. Albert’s first 15 three times in four matches, including the 61-15 blowout in the Ken Ann Cup playoff to determine the ERU rep at provincials.

The second division men grace the pitch May 16 against the Lep/Tigers at 7 p.m. at Ellerslie.

The season opener for the St. Albert Heavenly Rollers is Saturday’s doubleheader at the Pizza 73 fieldhouse at Servus Credit Union Place.
