If B beats A in the eight-team double knockout playoffs, the sudden-death game is 8:45 p.m.

The women’s Manager’s Cup final is 6:30 p.m.

The President’s Cup winner will represent St. Albert at the Edmonton and area Tournament of Champions, April 8 to 17 at the Saville Community Sports Centre.

The men’s and women’s Dominion Curling Club northern playdowns are underway in Sherwood Park for the Dale Briske and Christina Monk rinks from St. Albert.

The three-day double-knockout competition features 23 men’s and 17 women’s rinks.

Three men’s and three women’s rinks advance to provincials. Dates and location to be announced. Nationals are Nov. 25 to 30 at Thunder Bay, Ont.

Sunday the A finals are 9 a.m. and the B finals are 3 p.m.

Briske (third Les Ferguson, second Rick Dallyn, lead Doug de Bruijn) and Monk (third Lauren Jenkyns, second Kathy Piper, lead Laurie Schreiner) are the 2012 President’s Cup champions at the St. Albert Curling Club.

Weather permitting, the St. Albert Storm will huddle up next Saturday at the Capital District Minor Football Association’s midget jamboree at Fuhr Sports Park in Spruce Grove.

Times for the controlled scrimmages were unavailable at press time.

Midget spring football is open to players in Grades 9, 10 and 11.

Last year the Storm finished 2-4 and both wins were against the Millwoods Grizzlies, including the 34-14 Tier II playoff final.

This year’s head coach is Brian Clapp.

The St. Albert Heavenly Rollers are holding a recruitment drive April 2 at 7 p.m. in the Morinville Room at Servus Credit Union Place.

Information about the league, what is required to be a skater and the equipment needed to be a derby girl will be available.

St. Albert’s first and only roller derby league started in September of 2010 for females over the age of 18 of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds and athletic abilities.
