The Paul Kane Classic tips off Friday for eight 4A high school women’s basketball teams.
Game times are as follows:
12 p.m. Paul Kane Blues vs. and Bishop Grandin Ghosts of Calgary.
2 p.m. Jasper Place Rebels vs. Medicine Hat Kwahommies.
4 p.m. St. Albert Skyhawks vs. Centennial Coyotes of Calgary.
6 p.m. Spruce Grove Panthers vs. Catholic Central Cougars of Lethbridge.
Saturday’s schedule features the following eight games:
8:30 a.m. B-side semifinal
10:15 a.m. B-side semifinal
12 p.m. A-side semifinal
1:45 p.m. A-side semifinal
3:30 p.m. seventh/eighth place
5:15 p.m. B-side final
7 p.m. third-place game
8:45 p.m. A-side final
The Blues are 9-4 and the Skyhawks are 8-7 overall and both teams are on opposite sides of the draw.
A day pass is $5 and a tournament pass is $12.
Meanwhile, the Blues and Skyhawks play their only games this month in the metro Edmonton division one league today. The Blues (2-1) visit the Harry Ainlay Titans (0-3) at 5 p.m. and the Skyhawks (2-2) are in Sherwood Park to compete against the Bev Facey Falcons (0-3) at 6:30 p.m.
Canadian Wrestling’s Elite returns to the St. Albert Community Hall on Saturday with The New Heights Tour.
Headlining the fifth of 12 tour stops in 12 nights across four provinces is ACH, a.k.a. Alberta C Hardie Jr., an American professional wrestler who recently performed for Ring of Honor and All American Wrestling. He also appeared as Tiger the Dark at Wrestle Kingdom 11, the biggest international wrestling event of the year in Japan on Jan. 4.
Tickets are $21 for VIP first priority access and the 6 p.m. meet and greet, $16 general admission in advance and $19 at the door.

The last tour stop in St. Albert was Sept. 24.
The St. Albert Curling Club is hosting a 50-plus two-person stick stakes bonspiel Saturday.
Teams play for cash and are guaranteed three games.
The first of six draws starts at 9 a.m. and all games are six rocks and six ends.
St. Albert is also the site for the 14th annual Alberta Sturling Stick Curling Championship, Feb. 17 to 19.
The winner advances to nationals, March 23 to 26 in New Glasgow, N.S.
