The 14th annual St. Albert Turkey Ring Tournament is underway with a record 71 teams in 11 divisions.
The host St. Albert Ringette Association is represented by 29 teams in U9 bunny, U10 novice, U12 petite A, B and C, U14 tween A and B, U16 junior A and B and U19 belle A and B.
Last year 67 teams competed in 11 divisions.
The five-day draw consists of 128 games at Servus Credit Union Place, the Akinsdale, Kinex and Canadian Athletic Club arenas and Riviere Qui Barre.
The finals are scheduled for today, Sunday and Monday.

The St. Albert Flyers open the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League season with five road games, starting this weekend in Calgary.
Today the Flyers play the CBHA Rangers at 3:45 p.m. at South Fish Creek Arena and Sunday the Royals Blue at 1:30 p.m. at Stu Peppard Arena.
The first home game is Oct. 27 against the Leduc Oil Kings at 8 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.
The AMMHL consists of 12 teams in the north and 14 teams in the south. This is the first year of interlock between the north and south since the league was established in 2008.
Last season the Flyers (25-7-6) placed second in the north and beat the first-place Lloydminster Rage (27-6-5) in the North Cup final.
The Flyers went on to win bronze at provincials.
Tuesday the Paul Kane Blues and St. Albert Hawks huddle up in metro Edmonton high school junior football.
Kickoff is 5 p.m. at Riel Recreation Park.
In league play this week the Blues (2-1) posted a 21-8 win over the O’Leary Spartans (2-2) and the Hawks (0-3) fell 17-7 to the Austin O’Brien Crusaders (1-3).
The loss was the ninth in a row for the Hawks, dating back to the 2010 regular season.
