The St. Albert Tigers make their season debut Tuesday in the Sunburst Baseball League under new head coach Marc Dallorto.

Game time is 7:30 p.m. against the Red Deer Riggers at Great Chief Park.

Friday the Tigers play the Parkland White Sox at 7:30 p.m. at Henry Singer Park.

The Tigers’ home opener is June 1 against the Fort Saskatchewan A’s at 8 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park.

Dallorto replaces Kurtus Millar in the Tigers dugout. Millar announced his retirement after the Tigers surrendered 17 unearned runs in four losses at the Baseball Alberta senior AAA championship.

Last year the Tigers finished 7-20 overall. They were 5-9 in the Sunburst regular season, 0-2 in the playoffs, 2-5 in tournaments and 0-4 at provincials.

Millar was the player/coach when the Tigers last won provincials in 2007.

Dallorto is a former player and coach with the junior and senior Tigers.
