The bantam AAA St. Albert Cardinals play ball tonight against Sherwood Park Gold at 6:30 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park.
Last weekend in St. Albert, the Cardinals defeated the Lloydminster Twins 8-0 and 13-6 and edged the Fort McMurray Oil Giants 12-11.
The St. Albert Cardinals swing the bats against SEEBA tonight in the Norwest Midget AAA Baseball League.
The first pitch goes at 6:30 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park.
Tuesday the Cardinals hosted Sherwood Park Gold, but the score was unavailable at press time.
Last week the Cardinals dropped a 9-4 decision to Sherwood Park in St. Albert.
The Cardinals are also coming off exhibition losses of 4-1 to the Vauxhall Jets and 15-0 to Team Saskatchewan in southern Alberta.
Tonight at 8:30 p.m. St. Albert Impact 2 and the Scona Blues hook up at the Riel Park turf field in division 1B men’s action in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.
Last week the Impact battled Juventus/Karpaty to a 2-2 draw in the league opener in St. Albert.
Thursday in the premier men’s division, Impact 1 and AC Milan clash at Riel Park and the St. Albert Impact Rangers play Sherwood Park/Karpaty at Strathcona Athletic Park. Game times are 7 p.m.
The premier schedule kicked off last week, with Impact beating the Rangers 5-1.
The Bellerose Bulldogs host the Ross Sheppard Thunderbirds in Friday’s high school football scrimmage at 5 p.m. at the Riel Park turf field.
The Bulldogs kicked off their spring camp Monday with 80 players from Bellerose and Sturgeon high schools registered to play junior or senior this year in the metro Edmonton league.
The Bulldogs also have a game scheduled May 17 against the Tier II provincial champion Austin O’Brien Crusaders at Clarke Park and will participate in jamborees on May 25 and June 2 at Johnny Bright Park.
The St. Albert third division men’s team makes its season debut Friday against the Pirates in the Edmonton Rugby Union.
Kickoff is 7 p.m. at the Pirates Rugby Club.
Last year the thirds finished seventh at 5-8 and the Pirates placed second at 9-3-1.
Saturday’s tripleheader between St. Albert and the Strathcona Druids at the Lynn Davies Rugby Park starts with the women’s match at 12:30 p.m., followed by the second division men at 2:15 p.m. and the Alberta Cup premier men at 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, the home opener at the St. Albert Rugby Football Club is May 17 between the women’s team and Leduc Crude/West at 7 p.m.
