The St. Albert Storm tackles the Parkland Predators in midget spring league football Sunday at Clarke Park. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
Last year in the Tier II final Parkland defeated the Storm 22-9.
Thursday the Storm huddles up against the Millwoods Grizzlies at 8:30 p.m. at Johnny Bright Park.
Last week the Storm’s season debut against the Edmonton Mustangs was snowed out.
Sunday’s junior A exhibition between the St. Albert Miners and the Edmonton Eclipse in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League starts at 4 p.m. at Bill Hunter Arena.
The league opener for the Miners is May 12 against the Raiders in Okotoks.
This year there is no interlocking schedule between the four junior A and six senior B teams.
In league play last year the Miners finished 7-12-1 and lost the best-of-five semifinal in four games to the first-place Raiders.
The St. Albert Mustangs Track Club starts outdoor training Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Fowler Athletic Park.
The rebranded St. Albert Track and Field Club provides instruction to athletes eight to 18 years of age through Athletics Canada’s Run Jump Throw program.
This year the club is hosting the Alberta Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the peewee, bantam, midget and youth age groups June 22 to 24. It’s also the Team Alberta trials for the Midget Western Canadians and Legion Canadian Youth Athletic Championships.
Males and females 13 years and older interested in umpiring this year in St. Albert can register for the NCCP level 1 and 2 umpire clinics next weekend at the Legion Memorial Park clubhouse.

Registrations are still being accepted for the Zone 5 bantam football team’s selection camp for the Alberta Summer Games.
Players currently in Grade 9 or lower are eligible to attend the May 5-6 and 12-13 weekend sessions at the Riel Park turf field.
Zone 5 consists of St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Fort Saskatchewan and Leduc.
So far, 12 St. Albert players will attend tryouts.
Zone 5 is a traditional medal contender at the Games, with gold-medal victories in 2004 and 2006.
Several coaches on the Zone 5 team also have previous Games experience.
The Games run July 26 to 29 in Lethbridge.
