Also competing in the U10 novice tournament are the Hurricanes, Luna Chix and Fire Rings of the St. Albert Ringette Association and Edmonton Chaos.

Tonight’s main event is the under the lights showcase game between U19 St. Albert and Riviere Qui Barre at 7 p.m.

The final of the 10-game draw goes Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Following the midget AAA all-star break, the St. Albert Raiders resume league play today against the South Side Athletics Club at 2:45 p.m. at Bill Hunter Arena.

Sunday the Raiders host the Medicine Hat Tigers at 1:15 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.

The regular season ends next weekend for the Raiders at home against the UFA Bisons and CAC Canadians.

The Raiders (18-8-4) have locked up second place and a first-round playoff bye in the north division.

The St. Albert Flyers skate tonight against the Grande Prairie Storm in the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League.

Face-off is 8 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.

Last weekend the Flyers extended their undefeated streak to 10 games by beating the Camrose Vikings 10-3 in St. Albert and tying the fourth-place SSAC Bulldogs 2-2 in Edmonton.

In the north conference the Flyers (19-5-6) are one point behind the first-place Lloydminster Rage (21-5-3).

The Paul Kane Blues tipped off the Spartan Showdown tournament Friday against the Father Lacombe Lasers of Calgary, but the score was unavailable at press time.

Today the Blues hoop it up at 8 a.m. in the consolation bracket or at 9:45 a.m. in the semifinals. Tonight’s final starts at 7:45 p.m.

The Blues were 14-10 overall going into the tournament they won last year.

The next league game for the 2011 metro Edmonton premier men’s champions is Monday against the O’Leary Spartans at 6:15 p.m. at Paul Kane High School. The Spartans are 7-0 and the Blues are 6-1 in premier.

Entries are being accepted for the St. Albert Centre Ladies’ Bonspiel, Feb. 23-26 at the St. Albert Curling Club.

The $240 entry fee includes dinner and entertainment on Saturday and a free draw for a St. Albert Centre basket valued at $500.

The bonspiel theme is The Shopping Bags.
