Sunday the Raiders host the Sherwood Park Kings (12-10-6) at 1:15 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.

Last weekend the Raiders posted a 4-1 win against the UFA Bisons (12-10-6) in Strathmore and lost 4-1 to the Pronghorns (8-17-4) in Lethbridge.

In the north division the Raiders trail the first-place Leduc Oil Kings (21-6-1) by five points.

In the league scoring race Kevin Miller is tied for 10th place with 33 points in 26 games.

The St. Albert Crusaders face-off against the Whitecourt Mustangs today in the Northern Alberta Midget AA Hockey League.

Game time is 5:45 p.m. at Mark Messier Arena.

One point separates the Crusaders (12-11-2) and Mustangs (11-8-5) in the race for third place in the west blue division.

The Crusaders are coming off a 4-3 victory over SSAC Don Wheaton (9-11-4) Monday at Millwoods Arena. Nathan Barr, Erik Halldorson, Ben Cretain and Jordan MacPhee scored and Sam Holik was credited with 58 saves for the Crusaders.

The 49th annual Edmonton Minor Hockey Week ends Sunday with the finals in the novice, atom, peewee, bantam, midget and female divisions.

Seventy-two championship games are scheduled. Game admission is $3 and seniors and youths get in free.

The St. Albert Merchants skate into Sunday’s home game winless in three games in the Capital Junior B Hockey League.

Puck drop is 8 p.m. against the Stony Plain Flyers (1-27-3) at Akinsdale Arena.

The last game for the Merchants (15-12-4) was Tuesday’s 4-2 road loss to the Fort Saskatchewan Hawks (9-18-3). The Hawks capitalized three times on the power play. Blake Bosch, a midget AA affiliate with the St. Albert Crusaders, and Tyler Pennington replied for the Merchants. In net was Justin Pawlenchuk.

Wednesday, weather permitting, the St. Albert Steel host a pond hockey game at Lacombe Lake Park.

Players of all ages can join in the fun at 6:30 p.m.

Next weekend at Performance Arena the Steel (7-38-2) play the Grande Prairie Storm (16-26-3) Saturday at 7 p.m. and the Okotoks Oilers (22-18-5) Sunday at 2 p.m.
