Skating spectacle
The Edmonton Region STARSkate Invitational and Alberta Winter Games Zones 5 to 8 Runoffs are underway at Servus Credit Union Place.
The St. Albert Skating Centre is the host for one of biggest skating competitions in the province this season with 43 clubs participating.
The performance times at the Go Auto and Troy Murray arenas are as follows:
Today from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Go Auto and 8:30 a.m. to 9:10 a.m. at Troy Murray.
Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:05 p.m. at Go Auto and 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at Troy Murray.

Merchants game
The St. Albert Merchants can pad their point totals Sunday against one of the worst teams in the Capital Junior B Hockey League.
Faceoff is 8 p.m. against the Edmonton Mustangs (1-17) at Bill Hunter Arena.
The Merchants (12-5) were winners of seven straight and 10 of the last 11 before Friday's home game against the Spruce Grove Regals (1-17) and the score was unavailable at press time.
The Merchants skated into the weekend three points behind the second-place North Edmonton Red Wings (13-4-1) in the west division.
Royals at home
The St. Albert Royals and GPAC Storm faceoff today in the Rural & Edmonton Midget 15AA Hockey League.
Puck drop is 5 p.m. at Kinex Arena.
The Royals (4-6-1) are seventh and the Storm (0-6) shares last place in the 12-team standings.
Monday the Royals and SSAC Dolce Vita Homes (4-5) meet at 8:15 p.m. at Kenilworth Arena.
The last game for the Royals was Wednesday’s 5-4 loss to the first-place SSAC Cameron Homes (11-2-1) in St. Albert.
SSAC tied it on the power play with five minutes remaining and scored the winner with 52 seconds to play.
Flyers action
The St. Albert Flyers have two games in three days scheduled in the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League.
The midget 15 Flyers visit the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers (7-4) Sunday at 12:15 p.m. at JRC Arena before hosting the SSAC Bulldogs (9-4-3) Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. at Go Auto Arena.
The Flyers (5-4-5) are 2-2-1 in November.
