Slash hockey
The St. Albert Slash skate into the weekend as the top midget AAA team in the Alberta Female Hockey League.
Tonight the Slash (5-0) host the Red Deer Chiefs (1-3) at 7:45 p.m. at Go Auto Arena and Sunday’s game for the three-time reigning Esso Cup national champions against the Rocky Mountain Raiders (1-2-3) starts at 12 noon in Dewinton.
Raiders homestand
The St. Albert Nektar Raiders start a three-game homestand this weekend in the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League.
Faceoff times are 8 p.m. tonight against the Calgary Northstars (3-0-3), 2:30 p.m. Sunday against the Grande Peace Storm (4-1) and 8 p.m. Nov. 2 against the Okotoks Oilers (5-1).
The Raiders (4-0-2) are 2-0 at Jarome Iginla Arena.
Merchants game
The next home contest for the St. Albert Merchants is Sunday in the Capital Junior B Hockey League.
Faceoff is 8 p.m. against the Spruce Grove Regals (0-10) and the Merchants are 2-2 at Jarome Iginla Arena.
Friday’s score between the Merchants (5-5) and Fort Saskatchewan Hawks (4-2-4) at JRC Arena was unavailable at press time.
Midget AA action
St. Albert’s midget AA teams have games scheduled today in the Northern Alberta Hockey League.
The Steel (3-0) host the Wainwright Polar Kings (1-3-1) at 1:45 p.m. at Jarome Iginla Arena and the Source for Sports Crusaders (6-0-1), winners of back-to-back Playoff Cups, are the visitors against the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers (2-3) at 7:45 p.m. at JRC Arena.
In the Besa division of the metro conference, the Crusaders are first and the Steel were third before playing the Lakeland Panthers (1-6) Friday in Bonnyville and the score was unavailable at press time.
Thursday the Steel entertain the PAC Saints (2-2-1) at 8:15 p.m. at Go Auto Arena.
Royals at home
The St. Albert Royals are in action tonight in the Rural & Edmonton Midget 15AA Hockey League.
Puck drop is 8:30 p.m. against the Camrose Vikings (1-3) at Mark Messier Arena.
The Royals (0-2-1) were coming of Tuesday’s 4-4 draw against SSAC Cameron Homes (3-0-1) in St. Albert before Friday’s game against the Strathcona Warriors (3-1) in Ardrossan and the score was unavailable at press time.
