St. Albert sits eighth in the 10-team division with a 2-6 record, while the Pirates are in second at 5-2.

In the last meeting between the two sides, the Pirates came into St. Albert and trounced the home side 60-0. However, St. Albert won its last game 16-7 over the Nor’westers (1-5-0).

In St. Albert, the division 2 women will be looking for their first win of the season against the Crude/West side from Leduc. Like their premier counterparts, St. Albert’s division two squad is struggling this year with a 0-6 record while being outscored by a combined 354-14 margin. Meanwhile, the Crude/West have a 4-2 record and have tallied 211 points in their six games, just six points less than the Lep/Tigers who have played one more game.

Both games get under way at 7 p.m.

The St. Albert Impact Rangers will be just two days removed from the funeral service of their long-time coach/manager Dieter Knobloch when they get back on the pitch on Thursday.

The Rangers, who sit fourth in the EDSA’s premier division (2-2-4) take on the 10th place Africana FC at 6:30 p.m. at the ESA field #3.

Leading the premier division in scoring is St. Albert product Phil Pavicic, who now plays for the first-place Dinamo Croatia. Pavicic has 10 goals in eight games. Mark MacQuaid leads the Rangers with five goals.

In Division 1A, the St. Albert Impact 2 squad will look to continue their climb up the standings when they take on first-place AS Roma tonight. The Impact are in third with a 3-1-2 record and AS Roma is 5-1-1. The game is at 6:30 p.m. at ESA #2. St. Albert’s Cohen Cassidy sits third in scoring with five goals so far this year.

The St. Albert Impact 1 will be facing the Division 1B’s basement dwellers tonight when they take on the Fiji Santan Selects (0-6-0). Fiji has scored just two goals so far this year. The Impact are third at 3-2-2. Daniel Pilon leads the Impact with five goals on the season.

The St. Albert Rugby Football Club hosts a Mini Festival and U14 Prairie Tournament this Saturday.

The prairie tournament will be played from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., while the other age divisions will play shorter sessions. Each of the teams in U8, U10 and U12 will play from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The U15 teams will play from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
