Midget elite Sharks
The midget elite female provincials start Thursday for the St. Albert Sharks at Great Plains Recreation Facility in Calgary.The Sharks play the Sherwood Park Fury at 1:15 p.m.
Thursday’s games are 9 a.m. against the Airdrie Lightning and 3:45 p.m. against Calgary Fire Red.
The five-team round robin for the Sharks ends Saturday against Calgary Fire White at 11:15 a.m.
Sunday’s finals are 9 a.m. for the third place and 11:45 a.m. for the championship.

The Sharks (21-4-1) and Calgary Fire White (20-4-2) finished the regular season as the top two teams in the Alberta Female Hockey League.
The Sharks also swept their only playoff series with two shutout victories for nine overall on the season.
Bantam elite Raiders
The bantam elite St. Albert Raiders finished fourth at provincials after placing second overall in the Alberta Female Hockey League.The Raiders lost Sunday’s third-place final 1-0 to the Peace Country Storm in Grande Prairie after posting a 1-3 mark in the five-team round robin.
The Storm capitalized on the power play in the second period. Shots were 24-22 for the Storm.
The Raiders won the tournament opener 2-1 against the North Central Impact, followed by losses of 3-2 to the Storm, 2-0 to Calgary Fire White and 3-2 against Rocky Mountain.
Juliann Sherbeth led the Raiders in scoring with three points and Natalie Kieser and Mikayla Sarapuk potted two goals apiece.
Calgary blanked the Impact 2-0 in the final.
Calgary (21-4-1) and the Raiders (18-6-2) were the top teams in their respective south and north divisions and the Impact (15-10-1) was second in the north.
Midget 15 Flyers
The St. Albert Flyers ended the season with four losses in a row at the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League provincials last week in Lethbridge.The midget 15 Flyers edged the Leduc Oil Kings 4-3 before falling 4-2 to the CBHA Rangers, 6-1 to the Lethbridge Hurricanes, 3-0 to the Lloydminster Bobcats and 4-2 to the Rockyview Raiders.
Robert Kincaid led the Flyers in scoring with four points and tied for the team lead in goals with Mathieu Gautier at two apiece.
Lethbridge repeated as provincial champions in the 2-1 win over Rockyview and Lloydminster defeated the Rangers 5-2 for third place.
The Flyers skated into the tournament at 29-6-6 overall as the second-place north division team and winners of the Sutter North Cup provincial qualifier.
Rockyview (33-5-3) was the top south division team and the Rangers (30-10-1) won the Sutter South Cup.
