Midget AAA Raiders
Tryouts start today for the St. Albert Tire Warehouse Raiders with the 2003 born rookie camp at Akinsdale Arena.Scrimmages for the Holden, Benning and Kulak teams are 4, 5 and 6 p.m.
The main camp for the Raiders begins Aug. 31 and the Team Blue versus Team White intersquad game is Sept. 2 at 2 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.
The first of five exhibition games is Sept. 10 against the KC Pats at 5:30 p.m. at Bill Hunter Arena.

The home opener for the Raiders in the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League is Sept. 29 against the Leduc Oil Kings at 8 p.m. The pre-game ceremony will honour St. Albert Raiders Hockey Club alumni killed in the April 6 Humboldt Broncos bus crash.
The last two AMHL playoffs for the Raiders have ended in defeat against Leduc in the north division semifinals.
The 2017-18 Raiders (18-12-5, 97 GF/73 GA) finished second in the north standings.
Bantam AAA Sabres
The St. Albert Gregg Distributors Sabres are back on the ice next week in preparation for the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League season.The enhancement camp for the 2018 provincial finalists starts Monday at Akinsdale Arena and tryouts begin Aug. 26 at Kinex Arena.
The team’s intersquad game is Aug. 31 at 6:45 p.m. at Garrison Arena.
The first of six exhibitions is Sept. 2 against the host Sherwood Park Flyers at 5:30 p.m.

The 2017-18 Sabres finished 9-4 (60 GF/36 GA) in the playoffs after going 25-3-8 (186 GF/58 GA) as the second-best team in the regular season.
The best-of-five final against the Airdrie Xtreme was decided with 3:54 remaining in the fourth overtime period of game five as Airdrie prevailed 2-1 at Go Auto Arena.
