Norwest games
The St. Albert Blue Cardinals host the East Central Bulls this weekend at Legion Memorial Park.Game times are 3 and 6 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Sunday.
The Blue Cardinals (4-18) and East Central (5-13) are slotted in the Tier 2 division of the Norwest Midget AAA Baseball League.
The Cardinals are 7-20 overall after Tuesday’s 3-1 loss to the Edmonton Padres (9-14) at Wally Footz Field.
Premier soccer
Tuesday’s premier women’s match between St. Albert Impact 1 (Spaidal) and St. Albert Impact 3 (Murphy) kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at Riel Park.Impact 1 (10-2, 45 GF/14 GA) is second and Impact 3 (3-8-1, 18 GF/39 GA) is eighth in the premier table in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.
Both teams played this past Tuesday at Riel Park and the scores were 9-0 for Impact 1 against Rionero FC (1-10-1) and 2-0 loss for Impact 3 against Hearts United (4-7-1).
Impact 1 is the winner of four in a row after the 3-0 loss to first-place Northwest United (10-0-1) June 5.
Impact 3 suffered its fourth consecutive loss after the come-from-behind 3-3 draw with St. Albert Impact 2 (5-3-3, 18 GF/13 GA) June 5 when Hearts United scored twice in the last 10 minutes of regulation time.
Impact men
The St. Albert Impact host FC Gladiators in Tuesday’s division 2A men’s match in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Larry Olexiuk Field.
The Impact (4-4, 22 GF/16 GA), winner of four straight, and Gladiators (3-4-1) have six matches remaining in league play
Cole Rogers leads the Impact in goals with four.
Memorial game
The rosters are being finalized for the St. Albert Humboldt Broncos Memorial Charity Tournament, July 6 to 8 at Mark Messier Arena.The four teams are named after the St. Albert Raiders Hockey Club alumni killed in the Humboldt Broncos bus crash April 6: Logan Hunter, Jaxon Joseph, Conner Lukan and Stephen Wack.
Each team plays three round-robin games to determine the semifinal pairings.
The opening ceremonies start 7 p.m. Friday, followed by the first of nine games at 7:45 p.m. The final is 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
Each game is one hour and admission is free.
