Labatt’s Cup

The Labatt’s Cup provincial premier men’s final between the St. Albert Rugby Football Club and Calgary Rams kicks off at 4:30 p.m. today at Calgary Rugby Park.

The Rams are 13-1 and SARFC is 7-5 after Saturday’s results in the Alberta Cup playoffs. Scores were 36-20 for the Rams against the Calgary Hornets (8-6) in the south final and 29-7 for SARFC against the 2017 provincial champion Nor’Westers (9-2) in the Ken Ann Cup north final.

In the Alberta Cup fixtures, the Rams defeated SARFC 43-27 on June 2 in Calgary.

SARFC is competing in its ninth provincial final in 11 years after winning the 2007 Lor-Ann Cup division two provincial championship when SARFC fielded only one men’s team that year.

SARFC celebrated Labatt’s Cup victories in 2010, the first in club history, and during the 2014-16 three-peat.
