Impact women's soccer results and high school playoff matches

Impact 1 premier

The third shutout of the season for St. Albert Impact 1 (Spaidal) was also the third consecutive victory for the premier women’s team in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

The Impact were among the top teams in the premier table at 4-1 after Sunday’s 7-0 result against Rionero FC (1-5) at ESA Complex.

Tuesday the impact played Sherwood Park Phoenix (2-2-1) but the score was unavailable at press time.

The Impact’s top goal scorers after five matches were Brittany Kindzierski and Jazmyne Mauthe with three apiece.

The Impact have matches on tap Sunday against Wind (1-4) at 4 p.m. and Tuesday against Northwest United (4-0-1) at 6:30 p.m. at ESA Complex.

Impact 2 premier

Tuesday’s tilt against Northwest United was billed as the toughest of the season for St. Albert Impact 2 (Bourbonnais/Brown) in the premier women’s division.

The score was unavailable at press time.

Northwest, last year’s second-place finisher at 14-2-2, is known to field many of its Alberta major league players in premier leading up to the Edmonton District Soccer Association transfer deadline in late July.

Northwest was tied for first with Victoria at 4-0-1 and the Impact were 3-2-1 before Tuesday’s match.

The Impact were coming off a 1-1 draw with Angels Scottish SC (2-2-1) Sunday at Goldstick Park.

Scottish scored the equalizer after the Impact hit a crossbar and a post and also missed a couple of easy opportunities to put the opponent away.

The Impact’s last victory was 5-0 against Rionero FC (1-5) last week at ESA Complex as Abbey Pagee paced the attack with two goals.

Upcoming is Tuesday’s match against Impact 3 (Murphy) at 6:30 p.m. at Riel Park.

Impact 3 premier

The second win in three matches for St. Albert Impact 3 (Murphy) was Sunday’s premier women’s match at Goldstick Park.

Ahlam Abubaker tallied twice in support of goalkeeper Renee Chattargoon in the 2-1 outcome against Hearts United (1-4-1) in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

Abubaker is the team leader in goals with three.

The Impact’s record was 2-4 before Tuesday’s match against Rionero FC (1-5). The score was unavailable at press time.

The next game is against Impact 2 (Bourbonnais/Brown) at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Riel Park.

Division 1A Impact

The second clean sheet in three days for goalkeeper Charlotte Lendzion was also the third shutout in a row for the St. Albert Impact 4 (Murphy) division 1A women’s team.

The Impact are 3-1-1 in the Edmonton District Soccer Association after Monday’s 1-0 decision against Sherwood Park Dreadnought (2-2) at Riel Park.

Gracie Hausch, a U18 call-up, scored as the Impact duplicated the same result Saturday against the Spruce Grove Saints (2-1-1) with Brittany Kindzierski netting her team-leading fourth marker.

The next match is Monday versus Azzurri (0-1-2) at 6:30 p.m. at ESA Complex.

High school playoffs

The only St. Albert high school teams remaining in the metro Edmonton soccer playoffs competed in Tuesday’s division two women’s quarter-finals.

Scores were unavailable between the St. Albert Skyhawks (2-2-1 in pool B) and Austin O’Brien Crusaders (5-0 in pool A) and the Paul Kane Blues (2-2-1 in pool A) versus Holy Trinity Trojans (3-1-1 in pool B).

The winners meet in Thursday's semifinal.
