Premier men
The St. Albert Impact 1 Men ended their match against Croatia Dinamo with a tie.On Thursday night, the first-place Impact (8-1-1), who have a six-point lead in the standings, finished in a 3-3 draw against the now second-place team (6-2-1).
The two teams have already played against each other once this year in their season openers. The Impact won the match 1-0.
The St. Albert squad has scored 32 goals this year with Marcus Velado-Tsegaye leading the team with six goals and Prince Amanda David with five. The Dinamo have racked up 20 goals for the season, led by Philip Pavicic, who has scored six times since the season got underway at the beginning of May.
The Impact 1 men play again on Thursday, July 12, at 7 p.m. against the fifth-place White Eagles/AC Milan 1 squad. The White Eagles have won five games so far this season, with six losses and one tie. The squad is led by Srdjan Gajic, who has seven goals, with Dordre Mirkovic and Matthew Zima following close behind with six goals each.
The two teams have faced off before with the Impact coming out on top 4-0.
Premier women Impact 2
The St. Albert Premier Impact 2 Women’s team dropped a game to the Victoria 2 squad over the weekend with a final score of 4-0.The Impact 2 squad sits in fifth place with five wins, five losses and three ties for the season. The Victoria 2 group is in third place with nine wins, one loss and one tie.
The two teams faced off against each other during their first game of the year, with the Impact 2 squad posting a 3-0 loss.
The Impact 2 play their next game against the second-place St. Albert Impact 1 squad on Tuesday, July 17, at 6:30 p.m. at Riel Park.
Miners lacrosse
The St. Albert Miners won their second last game of the season this year with a 10-2 victory against the Outlaws.
Mike Triolo opened the scoring for the Miners on a power play just a few minutes into the game with an assist going to Matt Andruchow. The Outlaws answered back with a goal of their own, but Triolo put the home team ahead with another goal assisted by Andruchow and Richard Lachlan.
In the end the Miners topped the Outlaws for their second last game of the season, almost finishing the year undefeated after winning all of their games so far this year.
The Miners are hoping to finish the season with a perfect record when they play their last game of the year against the Edmonton Sr. Warriors on Friday at the Go Auto Arena. Game time is 8 p.m.
