The undefeated St. Albert Flyers host the CRAA Gold of Calgary today in the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League.
Faceoff is 3:45 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.
The Flyers are 6-0-3 in the north and the Gold are 8-1 in the south.
Sunday the Flyers travel to Lloydminster to play the Rage (3-2-3) at 2 p.m.
The Flyers are led offensively by Ryan Cox’s nine goals and 21 points for third place in league scoring.
Matt Murray (4-0-1, 2.40 GAA) and Joshua Dechaine (2-0-2, 2.50 GAA) split time in net.
Last weekend the Flyers and Fort Saskatchewan Rangers (2-4-4) played to a 5-5 draw in the Fort and Murray stopped 16 shots in the 6-0 win over the Grande Prairie Storm (1-7-2) in St. Albert.
Connor Deighton’s second goal of the game with 51 seconds remaining salvaged a tie against the Rangers.
Cox, Jacob Waldbillig and Zach Webb also scored and Dechaine stopped a game-high 35 shots.
Cox and Sean Richards tallied twice against the Storm and Jaedon Leslie and affiliate Sam Milner also connected.
The St. Albert Slash skate today against the Spruce Grove Saints in the Alberta Major Midget Female Hockey League.
Start time is 2:15 p.m. at Northstar Hyundai Arena.
The Slash (3-8-2) are 1-2 against the Saints (5-4-4) this season.
The Slash are coming off a 3-1 loss to the Southeast Tigers (4-5-4) of Medicine Hat last weekend in St. Albert.
Breanna Jones tied it at one in third period and netminder Sydney Williams faced 32 shots.
Rachel Rochat and Jamie Jones are the Slash leaders in goals with five and Jenna Jewell is the top playmaker with eight assists for a team-high nine points.
The St. Albert Lady Raiders are winless in three games going into tonight’s Albert Major Bantam Female Hockey League match against the Red Deer Chiefs.
Game time is 7:45 p.m. at Northstar Hyundai Arena.
The Raiders are fourth in the north at 2-5-1 and the Chiefs are last in the south at 2-2-3.
Wednesday the Raiders host the Edmonton Lightning (2-1-2) at 7:15 p.m.
Last weekend the Raiders lost their second game in a row to the first-place Sherwood Park Royals (7-1-1). Olivia Patterson opened the scoring in period one and netminder Hannah Clark turned aside 28 shots in the 4-1 setback in Sherwood Park.
Sunday the St. Albert Sabres entertain the KC Squires in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League.

In the nitro north division the fourth-place Sabres are 5-6-1 and Squires are 0-10-1.
The Sabres are 2-3 in their last five games after dropping a 3-2 decision to the SSAC Southgate Lions (10-2) last weekend in St. Albert.
Jack Langenhahn and Ryan Cooper scored and netminder Chris Curr (1-4-1, 3.72 GAA, one shutout) faced 39 shots.
The week before, the Sabres upset the defending league, provincial and western Canadian champion Lions 5-3.
Netminder Nate Reinhart (4-2, 2.18 GAA, two shutouts), the Sabres’ player of the month for September/October, was credited with 42 saves.
Langenhahn, Cooper, Matt Kasowski, Adrian Parth and Lucus Palladinao found the back of the net on 12 shots against the nitro north leaders.
Langenhahn and Cooper share the team lead in goals with six. The top point producers are Langenhahn, Cooper and Aidan Steinke with 10 apiece.
