The Raiders were 4-4-6 in the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League after Sunday’s 4-4 tie with the Southeast Tigers of Medicine Hat at Akinsdale Arena.

The Morinville Kings are the top senior AA team in the North Central Hockey League after winning their fourth straight game.

Dalen Paul tallied twice and Curtis Ronaldson stopped 24 shots in Saturday’s 7-4 victory over the winless Rocky Rams as the Kings raised their record to 6-1.

Wayne Gatza, Joshua Lafleche, Shane O’Neill, Adam Tomkow and Cody Issler also scored at Ray McDonald Sports Centre.

The Kings posted period leads of 3-1 and 6-3 while outshooting the Rams 37-28.

The night before in Westlock, Gatza sniped the winner at 1:50 of overtime as the Kings edged the Warriors 5-4. Tim Nolte and Joel Pelletier drew assists on the play.

The Warriors (4-1) led 2-0 after 20 minutes and 3-2 with under six minutes left in the third. They also tied it at four with 7:18 remaining in regulation time.

The second of two goals by Chris Wilson in the third made it 4-3 for the Kings with 9:26 to play.

Paul and Issler also scored and Brayden Arcand and O’Neill chipped in with two assists apiece.

Shots were 37-33 for the Warriors as Chris Sharkey recorded the win in net.

O’Neill is the top NCHL scorer with 12 points in seven games and Riley Miller is tied for second in goals with six in six games.

Sharkey (3-0, 3.63 GAA) and Ronaldson (3-1, 3.50 GAA) rank among the league’s top netminders.

The Kings are on the road Saturday to play the Edson Ice (3-3) at 8 p.m.

Two weeks ago the 2014 Hockey Alberta senior A provincial champions doubled the Ice 6-3 in Edson.

The next home game is Nov. 22 against the Ice at 8:30 p.m.

Tonight at 8 p.m. the Morinville Jets face-off against the Beverly Warriors at Londonderry Arena.

The Jets (9-5-1) and Warriors (8-3-3) are tied for fourth place in the west division of the Capital Junior B Hockey League.

The Jets are winless in two games, both at home, after falling 6-2 to the North Edmonton Red Wings (11-3-2) Sunday at Ray McDonald Sports Centre.

Tyler Hagel’s 18 goals in 14 games is tops in the CJHL. He also leads the Jets in points with 27, followed by Brandon Dubuc with 23 and Boe Geslinger with 21.

Tuesday, the St. Albert Raiders played the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers in the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League but the score from JRC Arena was unavailable at press time.

The Raiders (4-4-6) and Rangers (5-4-4) entered the game tied for fifth place in the north division.

Sunday the Raiders closed out their six-game homestand with a 4-4 draw against the Southeast Tigers (3-8-3) of Medicine Hat.

The Tigers scored the equalizer with 4:14 to play after Cam Lockard and Parker AuCoin found the back of the net in the third to put the Raiders on top. Parker’s go-ahead goal with 6:08 remaining was his third of the game and 14th of the season.

Riley Smith and Colin Schmidt added two assists apiece.

Shots were 30-28 for the Tigers. In net was Ethan Crotty (0-2-2, 5.14 GAA).

The day before the Raiders posted a 5-2 win over the KC Pats (3-9-1).

Ryan Cooper and AuCoin connected in the first, Smith struck in the middle frame and Tyson Chizma and Lockard closed it out in the third.

Brayden Nicholetts and Ian Mitchell collected two assists apiece.

The Raiders outshot the Pats 31-29 and Josh Dechaine (4-2-4, 3.08) was the winning goalie.

The Raiders were 3-1-2 during their recent stretch at Akinsdale Arena.

This weekend the Raiders head south for games against the Tigers on Saturday and the Lethbridge Hurricanes (6-4-4) on Sunday.

The St. Albert Sabres are undefeated in four games in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League after clipping the Maple Leafs 4-3 Monday at Akinsdale Arena.

Cole Gupta’s power-play marker with 5:54 to play was the game winner.

Brady Nicholas pulled the Sabres even at four on the man advantage with 8:15 remaining.

Aiden Yakimchuk and Noah Fayad also scored against the Leafs (2-11-1) and Martin Rudolf assisted on both power play goals as the Sabres (7-4-3) notched their third win in four games on home ice.

Shots were 36-24 for the Sabres and Colton Girard (4-2-1, 2.88 GAA) was in net.

The Sabres were coming off Saturday’s 7-3 victory over the KC Squires (1-11-1).

Garrett Clegg’s hat-trick led the attack. Gupta, Kyle Gilowski, Kye Buchanan and captain Jayden Platz scored, Rudolf added four assists and Fayad had a pair of helpers.

The Sabres outshot the visitors 41-31 and Mitchell Reidy (3-2-2, 3.44 GAA) was between the pipes.

The next game is Sunday versus the Leafs at 2 p.m. at Mark Messier Arena.
