The St. Albert Rush were crowned the Hockey Alberta midget B female champions last weekend in Vermilion.
The Rush finished 5-1 after beating the undefeated Stettler Storm 3-1 in Sunday’s final.
In the pool A tournament opener the Rush lost 5-4 to Stettler.
The Rush are Abby Ackerman, Hayley Basterash, Kallee Cardinal, Braydee Cardinal-Arcand, Hannah Clark, Nicole Clark, Elexa Davis, Alexandra Drevant, Shadeen Gibert, Teresa Havens, Kelsie Jean, Jaime Kidd, Jenai Kidd, Kolby Krueger, Julia Kormysh, Olivia Patterson, Cassandra Petlyk, Danica Rosen, Carly Umbach, head coach Justin Kidd and assistant coaches Amber Rodda, Dallis Marouelli, Alison Durand, Dan Basterash, Bob Havens and Rene Jean.

In the final, Nicole Clark, Kormysh and Umbach scored in support of netminder Hannah Clark.
Krueger was the team’s player of the game.
Ackerman, Umbach and Jean lit the lamp in the 3-1 semifinal win over the Olds Grizzlys. Hannah Clark earned player of the game honours with 34 saves.
The Rush also posted wins of 6-1 against the Lethbridge Hurricanes, 7-1 against the Vermilion Tigers and 3-1 against the Edmonton Heat in pool play.
Umbach led the Rush in scoring at provincials with nine goals and 15 points. Havens collected four goals and Jean was the top playmaker with seven assists for nine points.
The St. Albert Hit went undefeated in five games to win the Hockey Alberta peewee A female championship.
The Hit outscored the opposition 23-2 at the recent provincial tournament in Calgary.

The Hit, with five returning players in the lineup this season, didn’t allow a goal against in the round robin in wins of 8-0 against the Lloydminster Blazers, 6-0 against the GHC Storm and 4-0 against the Olds Grizzlys in pool B as Boyko and Knowlton split time in net recording the shutouts.
Langenhahn and Legge scored in the 2-1 semifinal decision over the GHC Kings and Murray, Long and Langenhahn connected in the 3-1 victory over Olds in the final.
Legg was the team’s player of the game against the Kings and Boyko was honoured in the final after facing 26 shots. Boyko also went the distance in the semifinal.
The Hit were led offensively at provincials by Langenhahn’s six goals and eight points. Kormysh chipped in with five assists for six points, Murray tallied four times for five points and Boucher also finished with five points.
In the regular season, the majority of the Hit’s games were against male or co-ed teams. The Hit’s record was 15-5-3 (82 GF/31 GA) and their playoff mark was 4-0-1 (24 GF/10 GA) as the top team in the Vigneau division.
The Hit also finished 5-0 at the Okotoks peewee A female tournament.
The St. Albert Bears were awarded silver at the recent Hockey Alberta bantam AA major provincials in Sherwood Park.
In the final, the Sabres lost 3-1 to the CBHA Blackhawks. Ben Brown scored, Ryley Osland was tested 27 times and Brett Bamber was the team’s player of the game.
In pool B, the Bears finished 2-0-2 and in the semifinals they edged Okotoks 2-1 as David Cloutier and Logan McKinley scored, Shane Zilka was credited with 18 saves and Kyle Fulton received player of the game honours.
Stuart Dovey was the top scorer for the Bears at provincials with three goals and six points and McKinley added five points.
