The undefeated St. Albert Flyers pitched their eighth shutout in the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League.

Evan Fradette's fifth goose egg was Sunday's 15-save outing against the CAC (6-8-3) at Akinsdale Arena.

Cam Aucoin tallied twice and Stuart Dovey, Tanner Fincaryk and Brett Bamber also scored in the 5-0 decision as the Flyers improved to 19-0 (118 GF/21 GA).

Fradette (9-0) leads the league in shutouts and is tops in goals-against average at 0.67 and save percentage at .973.

Ryley Osland is first in wins and his 1.50 GAA and .944 save percentage is second overall. His three shutouts are also tied for second.

Osland faced 35 shots in Saturday's 6-2 win over the SSAC Bulldogs (10-6-2) in St. Albert.

A pair by Fincaryk, with assists by Kye Buchanan, and singles from Aucoin, Justin MacDonald, Dominik Cesarz and Kyle Fulton supplied the offence.

In the league scoring race, captain Blake Sydlowski is first with 45 points and Dovey is fifth with 35.

Sydlowski and Dovey share the team lead in goals with 19.

This weekend the Flyers travel to play the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers (4-13-1) Saturday at 7:45 p.m. and the Camrose Red Wings (3-10-4) Sunday at 8:15 p.m.

The last home game before the Christmas break is Tuesday versus the Sherwood Park Squires (14-3-2) at 8:15 p.m.

The first loss for the Morinville Jets after eight consecutive wins was suffered Sunday on home ice.

However, the Jets (17-5-4) remain in first place in the west division of the Capital Junior B Hockey League after the 4-1 setback to the Wetaskiwin Icemen at Ray McDonald Sports Centre.

It was 4-0 Wetaskiwin (16-6-2) when Joshua Perrott scored on the power play with 8:11 to play.

The shot count was 31-27 for the Jets and Jaedon McConnell (7-1, 1.96 GAA) was between the pipes.

The teams combined for 26 infractions and 124 penalty minutes in large part to a rough and tumble middle frame.

The Jets started off the weekend with Friday's 6-2 road win over the Sherwood Park Knights (6-18-2).

Perrott struck twice and Tyler Hagel, Lee Gadoury, Brett Dubuc, Zach Mcrae also scored as the Jets racked up 59 shots.

Colton Kucher (9-4, 2.95 GAA) recorded 23 saves for the win.

Hagel's goal was his 31st as the league’s co-leader and is second in points with 50 in 23 games.

The Jets close out their December schedule at home against the Fort Saskatchewan Hawks (14-8-2) Sunday at 8:30 p.m. and the Spruce Grove Regals (6-17-2) Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.

The midget AAA St. Albert Slash were undefeated in 14 games to start the season before Sunday's shootout loss to the Edmonton Pandas in the Alberta Female Hockey League.

The first-place Slash are 14-0-1 (58 GF/21 GA) after the 5-4 result at Bill Hunter Arena.

The day before in St. Albert, the Slash beat the Pandas 8-2 as Tyra Meropoulis of Edson and Madison Willan of Edmonton pumped in two goals apiece and Cassidy Maplethorpe of Wetaskiwin added two assists

Mackenzie Butz of Sherwood Park, Kaitlyn Pelley of Onoway, Kaylee Vader of Sherwood Park and Makenna Schuttler of Sturgeon County also found the back of the net against the Pandas (6-11).

Camryn Drever of Edmonton turned aside 16 shots.

In the next game, Vader scored twice and Shyla Kirwer of Sherwood Park had two helpers.

Butz and Willan also lit the lamp and Brianna Sank of Ardrossan made 21 saves.

The Slash visit Calgary Fire (5-8-1) Saturday at 4:15 p.m. at Max Bell Centre.

Monday is the third annual Slash Alumni Event at Go Auto Arena.

At 6:45 p.m. alumni and Slash players will mentor peewee females during a drills and skills session, followed by a short scrimmage for the younger skaters.

The alumni game between Team Blue and Team Gold starts at 8 p.m.

Last year’s event spanned players from the first 2004/05 team to the 2015/16 roster during the Slash era in the Alberta Major Midget Female Hockey League.

The bantam elite St. Albert Raiders skate after their ninth consecutive victory Saturday in the Alberta Female Hockey League.

Faceoff is 8:30 p.m. between the Raiders (10-2) and North Central Impact (6-6) at Mark Messier Arena.

Sunday the Raiders host the Olds Grizzlys (9-3) at 1:30 p.m. at Go Auto Arena.

The Raiders grabbed sole possession of first place in the north standings in last weekend’s sweep of the Peace Country Storm (1-9-2) by scores of 1-0 and 5-1 in Grande Prairie.

In the first game, Robyn Short scored and Holly Borrett (4-1, 0.88 GAA) stopped 16 shots for her second shutout of the season.

Two goals by Madison Murray and singles from Natalie Kieser, Kate-Lyn Charko and Tayler Premak did the damage in the rematch. Kirsten Legge also collected two assists.

Elle Boyko (6-1, 1.31 GAA) was credited with 18 saves.

The Morinville Kings are winners of five in a row when they host the Edson Ice in the North Central Senior Hockey League.

Saturday’s game time is 8:30 p.m. at Ray McDonald Sports Centre.

Edson (5-9) is seventh in the standings and the Kings are one point back of the league leaders after knocking off the Bonnyville Pontiacs 9-5 in Morinville last weekend.

Bonnyville (11-3-1), Daysland Northstars (10-1-3) and Devon Barons (11-3-1) are tied for first overall.

Zach Carr’s hat-trick and Jamie Johnson's three assists paced the attack against Bonnyville.

Cody Issler, Kyle Harris, Joshua Lafleche, Gerald Desjarlais, Luc VanDale and Cole Cavell also scored.

Shots were 50-30 for the Kings and Ty Swabb (8-2, 3.59 GAA) was in net.

The Kings ring in the new year on Jan. 9 against the Whitecourt Wild (5-5-2) at 3:30 p.m. in Mayerthorpe.
