The Morinville Jets and St. Albert Merchants skate into tonight’s games going in opposite directions in the Capital Junior B Hockey League.

The Morinville Jets and St. Albert Merchants skate into tonight’s games going in opposite directions in the Capital Junior B Hockey League.

The Jets (8-3-4) are winners of four in a row and six in the last seven games when they visit the Spruce Grove Regals (2-11-2) at 7:30 p.m. at Grant Fuhr Arena.

The Merchants (9-6) are 3-5 in their last eight games when they face-off against the Edmonton Mustangs (5-10) at 8 p.m. at Bill Hunter Arena.

In the west division, the Jets are second and the Merchants are third after Sunday’s 8-1 blowout at Ray McDonald Sports Centre.

The Jets posted period leads of 3-1 after the first and 5-1 after the second.

Tyler Hagel pumped in his 19th and 20th goals of the season and Scott Woloshyn drew three assists.

Hagel is tied for third in league scoring with 33 points and is also second in goals.

Lee Gadoury, Dylan Stang, Brett Dubuc, Joshua Perrott, Jorden Rooke and Aiden Cornell also scored and Dubuc and Dean Jones finished with two assists apiece.

Ryan Cooper replied for the Merchants.

Colton Kucher (4-3, 2.91 GAA) stopped 31 shot for the Jets.

Ryen Papirny (6-3, 3.76 GAA) let in six goals on 46 shots in 40 minutes of action and Ethan Crotty (3-3, 5.18 GAA) gave up two goals on four shots for the Merchants.

The Jets and Merchants tangle again Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. in Morinville.

Friday the Jets host the Edmonton Royals (13-3) at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday the Merchants entertain the Beverly Warriors (8-5) at 8 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.

The last home game for the Merchants was Friday’s 5-4 win over the Regals as the teams combined for 30 infractions and 128 penalty minutes.

Stephen Cretain, Jake Mercier, Mason Kenny, Thomas Rotundo and Cam Mazur scored and Crotty faced a game-high 46 shots.

The St. Albert Gregg Distributors Sabres continue to rack up the wins in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League.

The 13th in a row without a loss for the league leaders was Saturday’s 8-2 rout of the Maple Leafs (4-8-2) at Akinsdale Arena.

Ryley Morgan, Austin Spiridakis and Ethan Leyer lit the lamp twice and Carter Savoie and Marc Lajoie also scored.

Leyer is the AMBHL’s top scorer with 20 goals and is tied for first in points with 33.

Spiridakis, Ethan Edwards, Tyson Kowaluk, Tyson Greenway and captain Mike Benning picked up two assists apiece.

Shots were 49-27 for the Sabres and Kyle Nelson was between the pipes (7-0, 2.03 GAA).

The Sabres are back on the ice Tuesday against the SSAC Southgate Lions (2-9-2) at 8:15 p.m. at the Akinsdale rink.

The St. Albert Flyers are the only undefeated team in the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League after winning their 12th game in a row.

Stuart Dovey’s hat-trick and Ryley Osland’s 32 saves lifted the Flyers past the PAC Saints of Spruce Grove 4-1 Sunday at Glenn Hall Centennial Arena.

Cameron Aucoin also scored and Blake Sydlowski assisted on all three of Dovey’s goals.

The midget 15 Flyers also dressed several affiliates against the Saints (10-3), ranked second behind the Flyers in the north standings.

The day before the Flyers downed the Maple Leafs 8-2 at Kenilworth Arena.

Sydlowski and Carson Henry tallied twice and Jaron Coles, Tyler Pitre, Tanner Fincaryk and Justin MacDonald also found the back of the net.

MacDonald, Sydlowski and Brett Bamber also picked up two assists apiece.

Shots were 43-19 against the Leafs (1-10-1) and Osland was in net.

Osland leads the AMMHL in wins (seven), save percentage (.966), goals-against average (0.86) and shutouts (three).

Sydlowski is also the league’s top point producer with 28 and is tied for second in goals with 14.

The next game is Saturday against the Canadian Athletic Club (5-1-3) at 8 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.

The St. Albert Tire Warehouse Raiders travel to Calgary this weekend for two games against south division teams.

The Raiders play the Calgary Royals (6-3-3) Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and the Calgary Buffaloes (9-1-2) Sunday at 1:45 p.m.

The Raiders (4-7-1) are tied for fifth in the north division after Sunday’s 7-2 victory over the Calgary Northstars (6-5-1) in the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League’s Showcase Weekend in Sherwood Park.

Garrett Clegg potted a pair and Peter Michailides, Logan Hunter, Spencer Augot, Eddie Gallagher and Jack Langenhahn notched singles.

Clegg leads the Raiders in scoring with nine goals and 15 points.

Chris Curr (3-5, 2.92 GAA) stopped a game-high 42 shots as the Raiders improved to 2-3-1 in their last six games.

The Raiders started off the weekend in Friday’s 3-2 loss to the KC Pats (4-7-1).

Zane Avery and Clegg scored and Xavier Halterman assisted on both goals.

Shots were 31-30 for the Pats and Curr was in net.

The Morinville Kings host the first-place Devon Barons on Saturday in the North Central Senior Hockey League.

Puck drop is 8:30 p.m. at Ray McDonald Sports Centre.

Devon is 7-1 and the Kings are third at 5-2 after winning back-to-back games last weekend. Scores were 11-8 against the Westlock Warriors (0-6) in Morinville and 6-2 against the Rocky Rams (2-2-2) at Rocky Mountain House.

Dalen Paul and Kyle Harris recorded four-point nights against Westlock and Cole Cavell and Thomas Brennan posted two goals apiece.

Cavell also struck twice in Edson and Brennan and Tyler Reay each had two assists.

Cavell leads the Kings in goals with six and Harris is first in points with 15.

Ty Swabb (4-1, 4.28 GAA) faced 47 shots in Edson.
