Doll joins Eskimos

Tanner Doll is now an Edmonton Eskimo.

The high school football product of the St. Albert High Skyhawks was signed by the Eskimos on Tuesday after playing four games with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats this season.

The six-foot, 221-pound long snapper joins his third Canadian Football League team after 22 games over two seasons with the Ottawa Redblacks, including the 2016 Grey Cup championship team.

The Grey Cup marked the 10th career game for Doll after making his CFL regular-season debut Sept. 17 against the Stampeders in Calgary.

Doll, 25, was among the final 10 training camp cuts by Ottawa on June 11. He was picked up by the Tiger-Cats on  June 19 and released July 23.

Doll, 25, was selected by the Redblacks in the fourth round (28th overall) of the 2015 CFL draft.

Before turning pro, Doll spent five seasons with the Calgary Dinos, from 2011 to 2015, as a linebacker. In the 2013 Vanier Cup, he recorded 12.5 tackles and one pass breakup, and during the 2014 regular season registered 48 tackles in 10 games.
