The Bantam AAA St. Albert Cardinals dropped their first game in the provincial round of play to the Sherwood Park Athletics May 21 at Legion Memorial Park. The Cards gave up three unearned runs to Sherwood Park.

The Bantam AAA St. Albert Cardinals dropped their first game in the provincial round of play to the Sherwood Park Athletics May 21 at Legion Memorial Park.

The Cards gave up three unearned runs to Sherwood Park. Pitcher Dan Gerlach, in relief, then struck out four hitters, and allowed only two hits.

The boys then cranked four runs in the sixth inning to narrow the gap, and left the bases loaded in the seventh.

Despite the simmering comeback, the boys could not come out on top.

The Bantam AAA team is on the road to Calgary this weekend to compete in a pair of double headers.

The Midget AAA St. Albert Cardinals pulled off a 6-3 win against the Sherwood Park Dukes at Legion park on May 21.

The Midget AAA team has seen quite a bit of success in their season so far, leading the pack in first place. To date, the boys are 6-0.

The Cards will be in action Saturday, May 24, when they are hosted by Fort McMurray.

The Midget AA St. Albert Cardinals play three games in two days in Stony Plain this weekend.

On Saturday, May 24, the boys face off against Stony Plain at 9 a.m. Sunday, May 25, the Cards bat off against Fort Saskatchewan at 10 a.m., and then against the Edmonton Angels at 1 p.m.

The Senior Cardinals can be seen in action this Monday at 6:45 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park. The boys are batting off against the Spruce Grove Eagles.
