Top-calibre 4A high school women's basketball teams will be showcased next weekend at the Paul Kane Classic.
Friday's tournament opener between the host Paul Kane Blues and Bishop Grandin Ghosts of Calgary starts at noon.
The Jasper Place Rebels, last year's metro Edmonton division one champions and 4A provincial silver medallists, play the Medicine Hat Kwahommies at 2 p.m.
The St. Albert Skyhawks and Centennial Coyotes of Calgary hook up at 4 p.m.
The 6 p.m. game features the Spruce Grove Panthers and Catholic Central Cougars of Lethbridge.
Eight games are on tap Saturday, starting at 8:30 a.m. in the consolation bracket and ending with the 8:45 p.m. championship final.
The semifinals are noon and 1:45 p.m., the consolation final is 5:15 p.m. and the third-place game is 7 p.m.
A day pass is $5 and a tournament pass is $12.
The Blues are 9-4 overall after going 3-1 for third place out of 16 teams at a tournament in San Diego during the Christmas break.
The Blues posted wins of 44-37 against Helix and 65-39 against Ramona, lost 50-47 to Scripts Ranch and defeated University City 47-14 for third place.

The tournament marked the first time since earlier in the season all 10 Paul Kane players were healthy and playing together.
Alesha Stanley led the Blues in tournament scoring with 42 points. Anika Steele tossed in 38 and Ella Stanley and captain Allie Hunder had 32 apiece.
Ella was the top rebounder with 26, Steele grabbed 23 and Alesha had 15.
The Blues also checked out Disneyland, Universal Studios and an NBA game between the Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Lakers.

The division three Bellerose Bulldogs (2-2) hoop it up Monday against the host M.E. Lazerte Voyageurs (1-2) at 5 p.m.
Wednesday in division one, the Paul Kane Blues (2-1) visit the Harry Ainlay Titans (0-3) at 5 p.m. and the St. Albert Skyhawks (2-2) are in Sherwood Park to play the Bev Facey Falcons (0-3) at 6:30 p.m.
The division two pool B Sturgeon Spirits (1-1) entertain the Memorial Marauders (1-0) Wednesday at 5 p.m.
There are no games scheduled during the exam break and league play will resume in February.

Monday the Bellerose Bulldogs (4-0) play the Strathcona Christian Academy Eagles (1-1) at 5 p.m. in Sherwood Park.
Wednesday the Paul Kane Blues (3-0) travel to Sherwood Park for a date with the Salisbury Sabres (0-2) and the St. Albert Skyhawks (2-1) visit the Eastglen Blue Devils (0-4). Game times are 5 p.m.
The Sturgeon Spirits (1-2) also host the Austin O'Brien Crusaders (0-3) Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
After the exam break, league play resumes Feb. 1 with the Bulldogs hosting the Skyhawks at 5 p.m.
The Bulldogs will also battle the Blues on Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Bellerose and the Skyhawks welcome the Spirits on Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. at the SkyDome.
