Alberta Summer Games
The provincial Summer Games will take over Grande Prairie this year with St. Albert athletes representing Zone 5 (Black Gold/Yellowhead).Forty-five athletes will be heading north from St. Albert to compete in events such as rugby, football, baseball, basketball, and track and field. Two athletes are travelling to the Games from Gibbons, three from Sturgeon County, two from Morinville and two from Calahoo.
The July 19 to 22 competition for athletes aged 11 to 17 years old is comprised of 13 sports, and more than 3,000 athletes, coaches and officials from eight zones will participate.

SARFC EW2
On Saturday, July 21, the EW2 SARFC is hosting the Fort McMurray Knights at the St. Albert Rugby Club at 2 p.m.The SARFC women’s squad sits in third place in league standings with a 3-1 record. The team has racked up 170 points during the season and allowed only 81 points against.
The Knights are in seventh place, posting a 1-4 record. They have scored 56 points during the year with 276 points against.
SARFC E2
The St. Albert E2 men’s rugby squad is facing off against the Lep/Tigers at the Lep/Tigers RFC on Saturday at 2 p.m.The St. Albert men are in fourth place, sporting a record of 1-6. SARFC has earned 139 points in their games this season and allowed 286 against.
The Lep/Tigers are in second place with three wins and three losses. They have allowed 117 while earning 190 points.
AC SARFC
On Saturday the St. Albert AC rugby club is squaring off against the Lep/Tigers at the Lep/Tigers rugby football club at 4 p.m.The fourth-place team has picked up three wins and two losses. They are currently in sixth place with a 3-1 record.
