Do you enjoy meeting people and helping others? The Alberta 55 Plus Winter Games are coming to St. Albert Feb. 24 to 27, 2011 and need individuals to help host and represent the games and the community. While you help others with questions that they may have, you will mingle with people from across Alberta and help to make it a memorable event for all.

Do you have intermediate alpine skiing or snowboarding skills? Help people with disabilities live richer and fuller lives by sharing those skills and providing ski or snowboard instruction to these individuals. Lessons are Wednesday evenings at Rabbit Hill during an eight-week Learn to Ski Program, Jan. 12 to March 2, 2011.

Are you enthusiastic and do enjoy children? Help to give back to the military community at this fun, upbeat event. At this Halloween party, you will supervise children in activities at the jump houses, games and crafts, as well as help with set up and clean-up. Event takes place Saturday, Oct. 30 in the afternoon.

This position is ideal for you if you enjoy meeting and interacting with people. Reception duties include welcoming people, answering and directing phone calls, processing payments and some scheduling. Morning and afternoon shifts available.

This St. Albert organization works with children and adults with disabilities and is looking for board members to help direct and guide the organization to achieve long-term viability. As a board member, you should be knowledgeable about community resources and have skills or expertise in one of the following areas: financial, human resources, community development, human services, developmental disabilities or government.

Help this organization that helps children and youth by assisting with the sale of 50/50 tickets at the Edmonton Oil Kings game on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Rexall Place. You must be minimum 18 years of age.

Do you have strong communication and analytical skills and can you work well independently and in a team setting? As a committee member, you will read and assess requests for United Way funding and work to understand the impact being made by the funded programs. Knowledge and/or experience in the human services sector or experience with audited financial statements would be considered assets. Volunteers must have access to a vehicle and be able to attend evening meetings in January and February of 2011.
