St. Albert Transit is resuming its regular scheduled operation for all commuter and local routes.

Heavy snowfall Wednesday had forced the transit service to make some changes to its commuter routes. But in a press release issued at 4:30 p.m., transit officials stated that snow conditions may create slight delays on some trips but no further weather-related service interruptions or adjustments are anticipated for the remainder of the day.

Updated information is being provided to St. Albert Transit commuters who use NextBus or E-notice, the release stated.

Earlier in the day, with a heavy snowfall warning in effect for St. Albert and the Capital region, St. Albert Transit had announced that commuter routes into and out of Edmonton would only travel as far as Village Landing Transit Station instead of continuing on to St. Albert Centre.

This is the second time this year weather has affected St. Albert Transit. A heavy dump of approximately 35 centimetres of snow in 10 hours on Nov. 9 forced the department to suspend local service for much of the day as several buses became stuck.
