Tupperware has set up shop in downtown St. Albert.
The studio, located at #100, 14 Perron Street, celebrated its grand opening on Tuesday.
This is Tupperware’s fifth retail location in Canada and its first in northern Alberta. The company chose St. Albert because of its trendy, small-town feel, said owner Jo Ann Wallace, who has 28 years of experience with the company.
“(Tupperware) didn’t want to be in a strip mall with big box companies, it wanted to make it more homey and personable, which is the difference between being part of a big company and having your own home-based business, which Tupperware is,” said Wallace.
Studios are a new concept for the brand name giant, which usually sells its products through parties and events.
The St. Albert location will act as both a retail location and a training centre for consultants and salespeople in the area.
“It’s also to have a sense of community in the area. They know the product is here and that they can buy the product,” said Wallace.
The owner is excited to bring the concept to St. Albert. She said her own journey with the company has been a very rewarding experience, allowing her to build a career while being a stay-at-home mom so she could care for a disabled son.
