Sublime Swim and Sunwear celebrated its grand re-opening on Thursday. The store, which started in St. Albert over a decade ago, has been undergoing renovations.
“We needed to freshen up our look. Fashions change, seasons change, we change,” said Lynn Carolei, owner of the business.
In 2010 the business bought the location next door and only removed part of the dividing wall. During the renovations the dividing wall was completely removed, the floors were upgraded, the walls were repainted and the change rooms were modernized.
“I’m very excited for all our customers to see what we’ve done and to experience the new look and the new feel of the store.”
Sublime Swim and Sunwear is open Monday to Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Out on a limb
A new business called Reborn Barns is giving old barn wood a second chance at life.
Ryan Steblyk, the owner and builder behind the business, takes the wood and refurbishes it into rustic furniture and wall fixtures.
“For the most part I figure out what I’m going to do with it after I already have (the wood),” he said. “I lay it out, clean it out and let the wood speak to me and see what kind of furniture or pieces I can turn it into.”
The business opened its showroom this past weekend, featuring tables, mirrors, wooden wall art, chairs and sofas. He says the next step is to invite other local artists to showcase their products in the room.
The showroom is located at 205 Chatelain Drive and is open Wednesday to Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. For more information on their December hours check out
