St. Albert weather: Wind, thy name was Wednesday

Mainly cloudy conditions go hand-in-hand with the chance of precipitation in the morning and early in the afternoon, when a high of 12 C is most likely to manifest.

Overnight lows continue their seasonal march toward freezing in St. Albert this weekend.

Possibly the shortest severe wind warning in St. Albert's history on Tuesday evening cleared the way for a 30 per cent chance of showers Wednesday.

Gusts of up to 90 km/h from the west-northwest were gone almost as suddenly as they appeared during the dinner hour, getting many a dried leaf moving on the next leg of their journey. The wind is expected to drop to an air of 5 km/h that barely registers by 5 a.m. What a different 12 hours makes.

Environment Canada sees sun in the city's future, though. Mainly cloudy conditions go hand-in-hand with the chance of precipitation in the morning and early in the afternoon, when a high of 12 C is most likely to manifest.

It is expected to be partly cloudy Wednesday evening with a similar 30 per cent chance of showers in the evening and after midnight, with an overnight low of 5 C.

Thursday is looking up, with clear, sunny skies expected all day expected to bring a high of 12 C, and an overnight low of just 3 C. Overnight lows, in fact, are expected to drop to zero by Friday and Saturday.
