Possibly the shortest severe wind warning in St. Albert's history on Tuesday evening cleared the way for a 30 per cent chance of showers Wednesday.
Gusts of up to 90 km/h from the west-northwest were gone almost as suddenly as they appeared during the dinner hour, getting many a dried leaf moving on the next leg of their journey. The wind is expected to drop to an air of 5 km/h that barely registers by 5 a.m. What a different 12 hours makes.
Environment Canada sees sun in the city's future, though. Mainly cloudy conditions go hand-in-hand with the chance of precipitation in the morning and early in the afternoon, when a high of 12 C is most likely to manifest.
It is expected to be partly cloudy Wednesday evening with a similar 30 per cent chance of showers in the evening and after midnight, with an overnight low of 5 C.
Thursday is looking up, with clear, sunny skies expected all day expected to bring a high of 12 C, and an overnight low of just 3 C. Overnight lows, in fact, are expected to drop to zero by Friday and Saturday.
