St. Albert RCMP charge pair in fentanyl trafficking investigation

RCMP seized 15.13 grams of fentanyl, 4.1 grams of cocaine, a counterfeit $100 bill, and $660 in cash during the arrest.

Two Edmonton men are facing charges after a fentanyl trafficking investigation led by the St. Albert RCMP drug unit.

The investigation in December led to the arrests of Alfred Kamara, 28, of Edmonton and Muhammad Mobeen, 28, of Edmonton on March 17, St. Albert RCMP said in a statement released on April 8.

RCMP seized 15.13 grams of fentanyl, 4.1 grams of cocaine, a counterfeit $100 bill, and $660 in cash during the arrest. 

The investigation in December also involved officers from ALERT Edmonton, and the St. Albert RCMP's general duty and general investigation sections.

Kamara has been charged with two counts of trafficking fentanyl; one count of possession of cocaine and fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking; two counts of possession of the proceeds of crime; and two counts of failure to comply with a release order. Kamara remains in custody, and is set to appear in Edmonton Provincial Court on April 21. 

Mobeen has been charged with four counts of trafficking fentanyl; four counts of possession of the proceeds of crime; and one count of possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking. Mobeen was released from custody and is set to appear in Edmonton Provincial Court on April 27, according to the RCMP release.
