St. Albert RCMP arrest alleged drug trafficker

A Spruce Grove resident is in jail this week following a police investigation into methamphetamine trafficking.

The St. Albert RCMP put out a notice June 3 that they arrested Kendrah Wong, 34, of Spruce Grove.

RCMP said they arrested a suspect on May 26 followed an investigation into methamphetamine trafficking last spring, which was done with the help of ALERT Edmonton (an inter-agency group which combats organized crime).

Wong was charged with two counts each of trafficking methamphetamine and possession of property obtained by crime and three counts of failing to comply with a release order. Wong had outstanding warrants on 58 charges at the time of her arrest.

Police seized and searched a vehicle as part of this investigation and recovered 6.64 grams of methamphetamine, 445 mL of GHB (a depressant), 7.17 g of psilocybin (a psychedelic substance associated with mushrooms), three cell phones, and fraudulent identity documents.

Wong was in jail pending a June 14, 2022, appearance in Edmonton Provincial Court.
