The St. Albert RCMP are asking for the public's help locating multiple items of jewelry that was stolen during a move.
The local resident was moving within the city, using reputable and trusted individuals, and discovered $40,000 worth of jewelry was taken.
The scraps of two elk were found on Hogan Road.
The elk had no meat left on the carcass, were assumed by Fish and Wildlife officers to have been dumped by hunters. Fish and Wildlife say the elk were likely killed legally but the hunters were too lazy to properly dispose of the scraps.
Dumping the animals does not break the Fish and Wildlife Act, but improperly disposing of the scraps within city limits is considered littering.
Finding animal remains from hunting is common this time of year although it is more typically found on country roads and not within city limits.
To properly dispose of any leftover animal parts, district Fish and Wildlife officer Dennis Prodan suggests taking any remaining material to the Clover Bar Landfill.
Alberta Fish and Wildlife officer Prodan would like to remind the public that it is normal to see coyotes in the city, especially in parks and green spaces. Anyone who has questions about coyotes can call the coyote information hotline at 780-644-5744.
