Riva, 11 weeks old

When Riva came into care she was very shy and timid with people. She still has some reservation with even her foster mom but she is improving every day and just needs to be reassured that everything is okay.

Riva was one of the smallest of the litter when she came and was picked on by the rest of her siblings, but she has never shied away from letting them know that she does not appreciate being roughed up. She has recently gone through a growth spurt and is now the same size as her sibling Rosa.

Riva had a hard time figuring out how to do the stairs and always wanted her foster mom to carry her up and down. Why do it yourself when someone else will do it for you? Now that's one smart puppy. She has now mastered the stairs and nothing gets in her way. She is a little explorer. She is also having a hard time figuring out how her litter mates get out of their puppy pen but she will raise the alarm that once again they have escaped and left her behind.

When Diesel, Riva's very large and loud, furry foster brother tries to bully her she will tell him off from a distance (she is no fool), letting him know that she is not scared of him and gives him a piece of her mind. She is the active one of the three and will let you know when she is not happy. She now comes more readily and is showing that she wants to be close to her foster mom and will ask to come up on the couch for a cuddle and a nap.

Riva is a smart little girl who does things in her own time and on her own terms. She may hide when frightened but will be the puppy that peeks out from her hiding place to see what is going on. With patience, love and understanding this little girl will bloom into a wonderful dog and be a great companion for the right forever home. She is now 11 weeks old and ready to find her forever family.

Please go online to www.nasap.ca and click under Riva's picture. Her adoption fee is $300 and covers the cost of her future spay.
